Synthetic turf in Gilbert and the East Valley
Synthetic lawns sized to the lot. Compacted base, weed barrier, drainage to match grade, infill rated for the use case. The cheap install you see for $4 per square foot at the home show pools water and dies in two summers. We build the base first.
It's almost always the base
Most failed turf jobs in the Valley share one cause: inadequate base. The installer sweeps DG over native dirt, rolls out the turf, and leaves. Two summers later the lawn has soft spots, drainage pools where the grade is wrong, and the seams are showing. Replacement runs the same cost as the original install.
We dig to a real depth, lay weed barrier, compact base in lifts, and shape grade so water moves off the lawn instead of standing on it. Then the turf. Then the infill, weight-matched to use case — silica for low-traffic accent, ZeoFill or antimicrobial infill for dog yards.
Asked and answered
- How much does synthetic turf cost in Gilbert?
- Most installs land $10–$16 per square foot all-in, including base, turf, and infill. The home-show $4/ft number leaves out the base — and the base is what makes the install last 12+ years vs 3.
- Is synthetic turf safe for dogs?
- Yes when installed correctly. We use antimicrobial infill rated for dog use, slope the base for drainage so urine flushes through, and recommend a quarterly rinse routine. The pad-and-drain layer matters more than the turf face.
